AI Optimise Credits Explained

By Emmanuel Abou Chabke, Founder and Editor · Reviewed by the AIQuickPrompt editorial team · About the publisher

AI Optimise is the magic button inside AIQuickPrompt that turns a rough prompt into a polished, high-performing one. If you have ever stared at a prompt and thought 'this could be clearer,' Optimise does the rewrite for you in seconds. The feature has two gears: fast rewrites (cheap, snappy models) and premium rewrites (frontier models like GPT-5 and Gemini 2.5 Pro). Premium rewrites cost one AI Optimise credit, while fast rewrites are free on Pro and limited to 3 per day on Free. This guide is written for complete beginners: what the button does, what credits are, how to see them, and how to use them so you never waste a single one.

What AI Optimise looks like in the app

Inside AIQuickPrompt, open any prompt you have written and look for the 'Optimise' button in the editor. When you press it, a small menu appears asking you to choose a model. The models are grouped into three tiers:

  • Fast tier | Gemini 3 Flash, GPT-5.4 Nano, GPT-5.6 Luna and others. These are free to use as part of your daily allowance or unlimited on Pro. Great for quick cleanups.
  • Premium tier | GPT-5, GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.5 Pro, Gemini 2.5 Pro and others. These cost one AI Optimise credit each run. Best for important or reusable prompts.
  • Bring your own key | Claude Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1 with your Anthropic key; GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, o1 and o3-mini with your OpenAI key; Gemini 2.5 Pro/Flash and 1.5 Pro/Flash with your Google AI Studio key. Add each in Settings and runs are billed to that provider, not to AIQuickPrompt credits.

A real before-and-after example

Here is a common prompt someone might save for a marketing task, and what AI Optimise does to it. This is the kind of improvement you can expect from a single click.

  • Before: 'write a launch tweet for our product it should be good and make people click'
  • After: 'Craft a 240-character launch tweet for [product]. Lead with the transformation it unlocks, use one sensory verb, then close with a single, undeniable CTA | no hashtags.'
  • The rewrite is more specific, shorter, and easier to reuse. It also tells you exactly what to fill in between the brackets.

How to use AI Optimise: step by step

If you are using Optimise for the first time, follow this simple flow. It takes about ten seconds once you know the buttons.

  • Step 1 | Write a first draft of your prompt and save it. Do not worry about making it perfect; Optimise works best when it has something real to improve.
  • Step 2 | Click the 'Optimise' button inside the prompt editor.
  • Step 3 | Choose a model. If you are on Free, pick a fast model for your first tries. If the prompt is important, choose a premium model (it will spend one credit).
  • Step 4 | Wait a few seconds. The model reads your draft and returns a rewritten version, automatically saved in your prompt.
  • Step 5 | Compare the old and new versions. If you prefer the original, click 'Revert' to swap back instantly. AIQuickPrompt always keeps the previous version.

What an AI Optimise credit actually is

An AI Optimise credit is one premium rewrite | one call to a top-tier model like GPT-5 or Gemini 2.5 Pro that reads your existing prompt and returns an improved version. It is not a token budget, it is not a subscription seat, and it is not tied to a single chat window. It is a discrete, countable unit of premium AI work, spent inside AIQuickPrompt whenever you press Optimise and pick a premium model.

Fast rewrites are separate. They run on cheaper models and are effectively unlimited on Pro (3 per day on Free) so you never feel gated for everyday cleanup. Credits are reserved for the moments that deserve the sharper model | the sales page, the client email, the system prompt you will reuse a hundred times.

How the three credit pools work together

AIQuickPrompt gives every account up to three credit pools that stack automatically. When you press Optimise, the app spends from the cheapest available pool first, so you never waste a paid credit if a free one is sitting there.

  • Daily free pool | Free plan: 3 fast rewrites per day. Resets at midnight. No premium models included.
  • Cycle pool | Pro Monthly: 16 premium credits per billing cycle (max 5 per day). Pro Yearly: 6 premium credits per cycle (max 3 per day). Unlimited fast rewrites on both.
  • Top-up wallet | €5 for 25 premium credits. Never expires. Transferable across cycles. Kicks in automatically when your plan pool is empty, on Free and Pro alike.

Beginner tips: when to press Optimise

If you are just starting out, treat Optimise like a writing partner, not a replacement for thinking. The best results come when you already know what you want, and the model helps you say it more clearly. Here are four safe ways to use it as a beginner.

  • Start with fast models | Use your free daily rewrites on simple cleanups. You will learn how the button responds without spending any credits.
  • Optimise your top 3 prompts first | Pick the prompts you actually use every week. Improving those gives you the biggest immediate payoff.
  • Give the model context | Add a short note like 'for LinkedIn' or 'for a 10-year-old audience' before you click. Optimise reads the whole prompt and uses that context.
  • Always compare before and after | The 'Revert' button is there for a reason. Sometimes the original has a tone the rewrite loses.

Common mistakes to avoid

Credits are easy to spend, but they are also easy to waste. Avoid these beginner traps so your first month with AI Optimise feels productive, not expensive.

  • Do not Optimise a prompt you do not understand yet | If you are still figuring out what the AI should do, the model will polish confusion into slightly clearer confusion.
  • Do not burn premium credits on throwaway messages | A single Slack reply rarely needs GPT-5.6 Sol. Save premium for reusable or high-stakes prompts.
  • Do not ignore the previous version | AIQuickPrompt keeps it for a reason. The best prompt is often a mix of your original intent and the model's rewrite.
  • Do not forget to check your balance | Go to Settings → AI Optimise credits to see today's usage, your cycle pool, and any top-up credits you have left.

The expanded model lineup (July 2026 update)

AIQuickPrompt now ships with 17+ models in the Optimise dropdown, so you can match the right brain to the job instead of forcing every rewrite through the same pipe. Every model is one click away from any prompt, and the same credit rules apply: fast models are free on Pro (3/day on Free), premium models cost one credit per run.

  • Fast tier (free daily / unlimited on Pro) | Gemini 3 Flash, Gemini 3.5 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, GPT-5 Nano, GPT-5 Mini, GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5.4 Nano, GPT-5.6 Luna.
  • Premium tier (1 credit per run) | Gemini 2.5 Pro, Gemini 3.1 Pro, GPT-5, GPT-5.2, GPT-5.4, GPT-5.4 Pro, GPT-5.5, GPT-5.5 Pro, GPT-5.6 Terra, GPT-5.6 Sol.
  • GPT-5.6 Sol is the current flagship for the hardest reasoning and structured-output prompts | reach for it on system prompts, long client artifacts, and anything you plan to ship.
  • GPT-5.6 Luna and GPT-5.4 Nano are the fastest new fast-tier options | perfect for near-instant everyday cleanups on any plan.
  • Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite is the cheapest Google model in the list | great for high-volume rewrites where speed and cost matter more than depth.

Bring your own key (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) | unlimited at your own cost

AI Optimise now supports bring-your-own-key mode for all three major model families. Paste your key once in Settings and the matching models unlock inside the same Optimise dropdown you already use | no AIQuickPrompt credits are spent, no daily caps apply, and every key is AES-256-GCM encrypted at rest on our side.

Anthropic (Settings → Claude): Claude Haiku 4.5, Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.1. Sonnet 4.5 is a strong all-rounder for long-form rewrites and Opus 4.1 is worth the extra latency on your most important system prompts.

OpenAI (Settings → OpenAI): GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, o1 and o3-mini. Great when you already have an OpenAI billing account and want reasoning-heavy models like o1/o3-mini without touching AIQuickPrompt credits.

Google AI Studio (Settings → Gemini): Gemini 2.5 Pro, 2.5 Flash, 1.5 Pro and 1.5 Flash. AI Studio keys are free to create and Gemini 2.5 Flash in particular is an unbeatable free-tier fast rewriter.

Every BYO run appears in your Settings → Usage history labelled 'Your Anthropic key', 'Your OpenAI key' or 'Your Google key' so you always know which account was billed. The BYO path will always stay as the free, unlimited option for anyone who prefers to bring their own compute.

The price, in plain numbers

One top-up pack costs €5 and delivers 25 premium rewrites. That is 20 cents per premium rewrite of GPT-5 or Gemini 2.5 Pro quality, with no monthly commitment and no expiry date. Compared to paying per API call, running your own key, or subscribing to every model vendor separately, the math is deliberately generous | AIQuickPrompt takes a thin margin so power users can actually afford to use the premium button when it matters.

For most people, a single €5 pack lasts weeks. For heavy users on Pro Yearly who occasionally need more premium runs than the 6-per-cycle cap allows, one or two packs a year is usually enough. Free users who want to test premium models without upgrading can do it with a single top-up and keep the credits forever.

When to actually spend a premium credit

The whole point of a credit system is to reward intentional use. A fast rewrite is fine for a Slack message. A premium credit is for the moments where the quality of the output visibly changes the outcome. A rough heuristic: if the prompt will be reused, sent to a client, published, or used to generate something you will spend more than fifteen minutes editing afterwards, it is worth a premium credit.

  • Long, reusable system prompts | the ones that shape every future output. Optimise once, benefit hundreds of times.
  • High-stakes writing prompts | cold emails, sales pages, investor updates, negotiation scripts.
  • Structured-output prompts | JSON schemas, table specs, code-generation instructions where clarity avoids hours of debugging.
  • Multi-step or role-playing prompts where the model needs to hold a persona, a task, and constraints at the same time.
  • Prompts you plan to share publicly or with a team | one polished version beats ten average ones.

When a fast rewrite is the smarter choice

Not every prompt deserves the premium tier. Fast rewrites are near-instant, cost you nothing on Pro, and are usually good enough for anything single-use. Save the premium credits for the artifacts that compound.

  • Single-use messages you will never reuse.
  • Small grammar or clarity fixes on prompts that already work.
  • Quick brainstorming variants where quantity beats polish.
  • Experiments where you are still figuring out what you actually want the AI to do | optimise once you know.

How to get the most out of every credit

A credit spent on a vague prompt returns a slightly-better vague prompt. A credit spent on a prompt with real context returns a rewrite that can outperform anything you would have written manually. Give the optimiser something to work with.

  • Write a first draft that at least names the task, the audience, and the desired output format. The optimiser sharpens what is there | it does not invent intent.
  • Save the original before you optimise. AIQuickPrompt keeps the previous version so you can revert with one click if you prefer it.
  • Optimise once, then edit by hand. The premium model gives you a strong 90% draft | your judgment closes the last 10%.
  • Reuse the optimised prompt across models. A well-rewritten prompt performs better everywhere, not just in the model that produced it.
  • Track what worked. The Settings page shows every premium run in a searchable history so you can see which rewrites actually earned their keep.

Recommended usage patterns

There is no single right way to spend credits, but a few patterns show up again and again among the fastest AIQuickPrompt users.

  • The Weekly Polish | on Fridays, pick the three prompts you used most that week and premium-optimise them. Your library gets sharper every seven days without ever feeling like work.
  • The Launch Sprint | before a campaign, a product launch, or a client kickoff, batch-optimise every prompt you will need. Two or three credits up front save hours of editing later.
  • The System-Prompt Refactor | one premium credit on a long system prompt often replaces a full afternoon of manual tuning.
  • The Free-Tier Sampler | Free users can buy a single €5 top-up and use the 25 credits over months to test GPT-5 and Gemini Pro on the prompts that actually matter to them, without committing to Pro.

Where to see your balance and history

Open Settings from the sidebar and scroll to AI Optimise credits. You will see four live meters | today's fast rewrites, today's premium runs, your cycle pool, and your top-up wallet | plus a scrollable history of every premium run: which prompt, which model, which credit pool it came from, and when.

Every purchase is receipted through Stripe and stored under Purchase history in the same card. Nothing hides. Credits are yours, visible, and portable across billing cycles.

Privacy and safety of your optimised prompts

Every Optimise call runs server-side through AIQuickPrompt. Your prompt is sent to the chosen model provider only for the length of that single call, is not used to train future models, and the resulting rewrite is stored only inside your own vault. Locked prompts stay locked | biometric or password re-entry is still required to read them before you can optimise.

You always own both versions | the original and the rewrite | and both are included in your Excel exports and Google Drive backups.

The bottom line

AI Optimise credits are the smallest, sharpest tool in AIQuickPrompt. They exist so premium models are a click away when the moment deserves them, without forcing everyone onto a heavy subscription. Spend them on prompts that will be reused, sent, or shipped. Skip them on throwaway messages. Buy a top-up when you want the option always available. Used this way, twenty cents of premium rewrite regularly saves an hour of work | which is the whole point.

Optimise the prompts that matter. Save the rest of your credits for the next one that does. Open AIQuickPrompt, press Optimise on your most-used prompt this week, and feel the difference | your future self, and your budget, both benefit.
